The Central Illinois Down Syndrome Organization (CIDSO) is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization established in 1974 to act as a support service for families in Central Illinois who have been touched by Down syndrome. It has no paid staff and minimal administrative overhead. It is completely volunteer run.

CIDSO has helped to support many efforts in the McLean County area that enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome including: speech and hearing services, adult literacy program, recreational opportunities, transportation, medical services/supplies not covered by insurance, educational supplies as well as funds for families to attend conferences pertaining to Down syndrome. CIDSO also provides public awareness campaigns and new parent outreach for families when they learn that their child has Down syndrome.
